Sarah Stephens graduated with a BMus (Hons) from the University of Birmingham in 2004, and went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal Studies at Birmingham Conservatoire in 2006 for which she was awarded a Distinction.

At the age of 16, Sarah won a Granada Youth Music Award for singing, which enabled her to perform with the Midland Festival Chorus and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Malcom Goldring. As a member of Leicestershire Arts Chanterelles, she sang in the Final of Sainsbury's Choir of the Year in the Royal Albert Hall and was soloist for Gounod's Sanctus on their most recent CD.

Sarah is in demand as a soloist throughout the Midlands and currently enjoys a busy and varied schedule of engagements ranging from oratorio work, concerts and recitals, to weddings, corporate functions and charity events. 

She has appeared as guest soloist with many choirs in the Midlands, performing a mixed repertoire including opera, lieder, oratorio and songs from the shows. She has sung in Symphony Hall, Birmingham with the Birmingham Bach and has performed as a soloist in cathedrals across the country, including Ripon Cathedral, York Minster and St Paul's Cathedral, London.

Recent oratorio work includes: Beethoven Mass in C, Dvorak Te Deum, Rutter Mass of the Children and Magnificat, Mozart Requiem, Bach Christmas Oratorio, Handel Messiah and Haydn Creation with Choirs and Choral Societies throughout the Midlands including Leicester Philhamonic Choir, Cantamici and Kettering Camerata. Whilst at the Conservatoire, Sarah performed in Masterclasses with Catherine Bott, Michael Chance and Richard Jackson and was soloist in Liszt Missa Choralis and Britten Hymn to Saint Cecilia for the Conservatoire Chamber Choir under the direction of Paul Spicer and Jeffery Skidmore. Her solo work with the Birmingham University Singers includes, Handel Israel in Egypt in Birmingham Cathedral, Howells Requiem, Stanford Magnificat in G and Mendelssohn Hear My Prayer.

In addition Sarah, is an accomplished brass player, having studied Euphonium with Andrew Fawbert at Birmingham Conservatoire. She is a an experienced conductor and teacher and currently combines her singing career with classroom music teaching, private singing teaching and conducting both youth and adult choirs.
